I agree with the statement that says “with the presence of technology students now days can learn more information and learn more quickly.” I believe that without technology in our hands, it is more difficult for students to find the information that is desired and more difficult to use this information in their studies. The technology gives students the opportunity to learn more of what they want more when they want, and also at the time that they want.
An example of the use of technology for education is the computer. The computer is a very important device today because it can analyze, save, and store huge amount of data. Also, it contains software which helps the student increase their imagination. I think the studying become more interesting with using the different types of software. However, the computer sometimes loses the information if it is infected by a computer virus. In this case, the student can lose all of the homework and other files easily.
Another example is the Internet where students can share information anywhere in the world because it is easy to use. Information can sent over the Internet at faster speeds than with older methods of sending information before Internet. The Internet is like a huge library which contains almost all of the information that the student wants. In the past, the students would have to struggle by going from one place to next to get the information that they need. Now, when the student is looking for particular information all they need to do is press one button and the information comes up on the screen. As we can see, there are lots of advantages for the student in using the Internet. However, one disadvantage students can spend a lot of time finding a lot of information that they are not related to their search.
The students can also learn from television. There are specific education programs made for broadcasting on television. The students can use these programs in addition to classroom studies. However, there are disadvantages in relying on television for learning. For example, if questions come up, there is no one available that the student can ask directly.
Distance learning is another technology that students use to learn from a far distance. They can study and learn from their homes while they are enrolled in a school in another country. However, this kind of learning is not always reliable because the student might have a problem with the connection during an exam. Another disadvantage is that the student is depending on a good Internet connection because without it the student will be cut off from studies.
In conclusion, technology is very important in helping the student to learn and get information easily. Also, technology has advantages and disadvantages, but the disadvantages are small compared to the advantages.
